Want to learn more about the city you live in, while making a difference? Intern for Ayanna Pressley for Boston City Council At-Large. Ayanna came to Boston to study at BU and decided to stick around and work in politics. While some people may focus on her being the only woman in the field, what really separates Ayanna from the pack goes far beyond the simple fact of her gender. She has 14 years of public service experience, working as a Constituent Services Representative for Congressman Joe Kennedy and later as Senator John Kerry's Political Director. At a time when the city faces tremendous economic challenges, she is the only candidate with the long-standing relationships and connections at the city, state and federal level to advocate directly to key decision-makers for increased funding and support for Boston. In this local election, interns will have many opportunities to make measurable impacts on the campaign. Ideal candidates will be hardworking and have a basic interest in learning about Boston politics.
