Hey BU Dems!

Welcome back to campus! We're back in Boston just in time for the first Senate race in Massachusetts since 1985! Attorney General Martha Coakley will face off against Republican State Senator Scott Brown in a very close race on January 19th. If you are registered to vote in Massachusetts but cannot go to the polls for whatever reason, the deadline to apply for an absentee ballot is January 15th at 5pm. Just visit city hall and fill out an application!

ALSO instead of a regular meeting this week, we will be phonebanking for Martha Coakley at 7pm in our new room, SED 130. Please come and bring a phone and computer; the Coakley campaign needs your help!

Hey College Dems!

PLEASE DON'T FORGET- TOMORROW is the last day to REGISTER TO VOTE in the MA Senate primary! MassPIRG and the Student Union have teamed up and will be at the GSU armed with voter registration forms. We've got a few too, so if you are at all interested in voting in this election, PLEASE either email us or head to the GSU! All you have to do is fill out a form and make sure it's postmarked by tomorrow. We've got four excellent candidates: Attorney General Martha Coakley, our very own Congressman Capuano, Alan Khazei the founder of City Year and Boston Celtics co-owner Steve Pagliuca. One of them will continue on to face a Republican in January, and they need your vote!

This week we will be taking it easy, watching the Daily Show and maybe getting some free stuff/food? As usual, we will be meeting Thursday at 7pm in Sargent 102.

We have funding for our newsletter! We are going to need help getting advertising, writing and setting up the layout. If you are interested in getting involved in our newest project, please contact Matt Wall mattwall@bu.edu
